FLUX

PRIVACY POLICY · EFFECTIVE 16 OCTOBER 2026

We receive nothing from your play unless you say yes to anonymous game stats, and even then nothing that identifies you. FLUX has no account and does not track you. From version 1.4, FLUX shows ads from Google AdMob, which receives what loading and showing them needs; they are never personalized (Ads, below). Earlier versions show none. Optional Game Center is provided by Apple. The game works offline, and without a connection no ads show. Future versions may add other features; if one does, this policy will say so first.

At a glance

Who makes FLUX

FLUX is made by an independent developer in the United States ("we" and "us" here). Questions: chat@fluxsupports.com.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the FLUX game for iPhone and iPad, this website, and any message you send us. It does not cover Apple's services, such as the App Store and Game Center, or other companies' websites FLUX links to: their own policies cover them. Please read it with our terms of use.

What stays on your device

Your progress lives on your iPhone or iPad: your best scores, your stats and recent runs, a run in progress, your ADVENTURE levels and stars, your settings, the looks you picked in LOCKER, which tips and notes you have already seen, and when the last full-screen ad showed. FLUX keeps a second copy in its own files on your device, so your progress survives if iOS clears the game's storage. We don't receive any of it. (Anonymous game stats, below, are separate, and only if you say yes.)

If you back up your iPhone or iPad (to iCloud or a computer), your progress may be included, depending on your backup settings. FLUX does not provide its own cloud sync or guarantee recovery. Deleting the app deletes your progress from the device.

No cookies, no tracking

FLUX itself uses no cookies and no trackers, in the game or on this website. The game keeps your progress in its own storage on your device because it needs it to work, and that storage does not leave your device. Anonymous game stats, below, wait there only until they are sent, and only after you say yes. From version 1.4, Google's ad software in the app keeps some data of its own on your device to show ads, as Ads (below) says, never to track you.

FLUX does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and never asks to. Apart from Apple's Game Center (if you use it) and Google AdMob when an ad shows (version 1.4 and later), both below, no other company collects personal information about you through FLUX. FLUX asks Google to turn off interest-based ads, remarketing and the advertising ID for every ad, so the ads are not chosen by what you do over time or in other apps and websites. Because nothing is tracked and no ad is personalized, FLUX and this website work the same whether or not your device or browser sends a "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signal: there is no tracking or targeted advertising for the signal to turn off.

Game Center

FLUX's worldwide leaderboard is Apple's Game Center. It is optional: you can play everything without it.

GAME CENTER is on in FLUX Settings unless you turn it off. While it is on and you are signed in to Game Center, FLUX sends the score of each finished run to it, so the score can appear on the leaderboard with your Game Center name. If you are not signed in, Apple may show its own sign-in screen when FLUX starts; you can close it and keep playing. Game Center is Apple's service, and Apple’s Game Center privacy notice covers it. Your Game Center nickname and scores on the global leaderboard are visible to other Game Center users. Apple also processes game activity under its own notice. Turn GAME CENTER off in FLUX Settings to stop future submissions; this does not delete earlier scores. You can also sign out in the device’s Settings app.

We keep no copy of your Game Center details. FLUX may also show Apple's own screen for rating FLUX on the App Store: what you give there goes to Apple, and FLUX never sees it.

Anonymous game stats, only if you say yes

After your second finished run, FLUX asks once whether you want to share anonymous game stats. SHARE ANONYMOUS STATS in Settings is off until you say yes, and you can turn it off at any time. Turning it off deletes any stats not yet sent.

What is sent:

With them go the app's version and build, the iOS or iPadOS version, your language (two letters, such as "en"), your device's family (such as "iPhone17" or "iPad16", never the exact model), the time of each event to the minute, and a random number made each time FLUX starts and forgotten when it closes, so that one visit's stats can be read together.

What is never sent: your name, an account, any lasting ID for you or your device, your exact scores, your board or moves, your location from your device, your contacts, or anything you type. We cannot tell who you are from the stats, and we never try.

Who handles them: Aptabase (Technov Solutions SRL, of Romania), an analytics service, in its United States region. Like any server, it sees your internet (IP) address as the stats arrive. It uses the address only for a moment: to work out your country and region, and to make a one-way code that changes every day, so it can count each day's players without knowing who they are. It does not store the address, and we never receive it. Aptabase keeps the stats, with that daily code, for up to five years, handles them only to provide its service, and protects them as this policy describes. Only the developer can see them in its dashboard.

Why: to see how FLUX plays, and to fix what is too hard, too slow or broken.

Ads (version 1.4 and later)

FLUX is free, and from version 1.4 it shows ads: a banner at the bottom of the screen while you play a run or a level, kept clear of the board; a full-screen ad after each ADVENTURE level you pass from JUPITER (the third planet) on, and now and then when you finish a run; and ads you choose to watch for a reward (one more hint once yours are gone, or a BIG BANG power piece). A full-screen ad never comes during a run or a level unless you choose one. The ads come from Google AdMob (Google LLC), through Google's own software in the app.

Ads you choose play only when you tap WATCH AD on FLUX's own card, which says first what you get. The reward comes only once the ad has played to its end, and it is part of the game alone. Watching one sends Google nothing more than any other ad does.

They are never personalized. An ad is picked only by where it shows (a puzzle game for everyone), your general area (worked out from your internet address) and the kind of device you have. FLUX asks Google to treat every ad request as a child's: no interest-based ads, no remarketing, no advertising ID (IDFA) sent, only ads rated for everyone (G), Google's own lasting ID for the app turned off, and Google's restricted data processing on. So FLUX never asks to track you, and nothing in the game depends on your device's tracking setting.

What Google receives whenever FLUX loads or shows an ad: FLUX's ad software starts when FLUX opens and loads ads ahead of time, so Google receives this while FLUX is open with an internet connection, even before you see an ad, and even when none will show (with Dim Flashing Lights on, below). It is your internet (IP) address (and from it a rough location), your device's model and system version, the app and its version, which ads were shown and tapped and how they played, an identifier that belongs to this developer's apps on your device (to cap how often an ad shows, and to stop fraud), and reports of its own errors and performance. Google handles it under Google's Privacy Policy, and explains how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We receive from Google only totals, such as how many ads showed and what they earned, never anything about you. Tapping an ad leaves FLUX for the advertiser's own page or the App Store, where their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Where a law asks a parent first (Texas now, more states from 2027) and Apple's software on your device says it applies to you, FLUX shows no ads to a minor until a parent or guardian agrees to this update through Apple. With Dim Flashing Lights on (in your device's Settings), FLUX shows no ads, since it cannot check other companies' ads for flashing light.

See what an ad is chosen by, or report one: Settings in FLUX has ADS, with REPORT AN AD, which emails us; or write to chat@fluxsupports.com with what the ad showed and when, and we will block it where we can. An ad's own small ⓘ, where it has one, leads to Google's information about it. FLUX's anonymous game stats never go to Google.

Your age range, where a law requires it

Some US states, Texas among them, require apps to check a player's age range with the App Store. Where iOS says such a law applies to you, FLUX asks for your age range with Apple's own screen, at most once a year. FLUX does not keep the answer, send it anywhere or share it. It only remembers, on your device, the date it asked. Where such a law also asks a parent to agree to an update (version 1.4's ads, above), Apple tells FLUX only that a parent's agreement is needed and, later, whether it was given; FLUX keeps only that answer, on your device, and holds the ads until a parent agrees. Apple, and a parent or guardian for a child's account, control what is shared.

How we use information

We use the little information FLUX handles only to:

We do not use it, or let Google use it, to aim ads at you, and we make no automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

When information may be shared

We share information only:

FLUX does not sell your personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising (its ads included: they are never personalized, and Google handles them under its restricted data processing), or give it to anyone for their own direct marketing.

The services FLUX uses

Each of these services receives only what its part needs, may use it only to provide that service to FLUX (Google within the limits FLUX sets on every ad request, Ads, above), and is bound by its own terms and policies to protect it as well as this policy does and as Apple's App Store rules require. If this list changes, this policy will change first.

How long things are kept

Security

FLUX keeps what it holds small: no account and no password, and your progress on your device, protected by your device's own security. The anonymous stats are checked before they leave your device to make sure they carry no lasting identifier, and travel over an encrypted connection; this website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that information will never be accessed without permission, but we work to keep FLUX safe and to fix problems quickly. To report one, see the support page's Reporting a security problem.

Where information is kept

FLUX is offered in the United States. Your progress stays on your device. The anonymous stats are kept in Aptabase's United States region. Apple, Netlify and Google (its email service, and from version 1.4 its ads) may process information in the United States and other countries, under their own policies.

Children

FLUX is a puzzle game for a general audience, and it does not ask anyone's age to play (where a state law requires it, Apple's own screen asks for an age range: above). It collects no personal information from children beyond what this section describes.

If a child under 13 says yes to anonymous game stats, the only thing the US children's privacy law (COPPA) could count as personal information is the internet (IP) address Aptabase sees as the stats arrive, with the daily code made from it. They are used only to support FLUX's internal operations: to work out countries and regions and count each day's players, so we can measure how the game works and fix it. They are never used to contact anyone, to build a profile of anyone, for advertising, or for any other purpose. Aptabase does not store the address, and FLUX never receives it.

From version 1.4, FLUX's ads are contextual for everyone, a child included. When FLUX loads or shows an ad, the only things COPPA could count as a child's personal information are the internet (IP) address and the identifier for this developer's apps that Google AdMob receives (above). They are used only to support FLUX's internal operations: to show an ad chosen for the game, count it, cap how often ads show, and stop fraud. Every ad request is marked for a child's treatment, so they are never used to contact anyone, to build a profile of anyone, or for interest-based ads or remarketing, and no advertising ID is sent. Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) handles them under its privacy policy, and keeps them no longer than its retention policy allows (How long things are kept, above).

If we learn that an email came from a child under 13, we use it only to answer that one message, never to contact the child again, and we share it with no one; then we delete it promptly.

A parent or guardian can ask us at chat@fluxsupports.com to see or delete anything their child sent us, or to stop our using it, and we will. The anonymous stats carry nothing that could pick out one child's stats, so they cannot be shown or deleted one child at a time; a parent can turn SHARE ANONYMOUS STATS off on the child's iPhone or iPad at any time. We hold no ad data about any child: Google receives it only for the ads, as above. Game Center is Apple's, with Apple's own controls for children's accounts.

What FLUX does not do

Future versions may change any of this. If one does, this policy will change first: see Changes.

Your choices and rights

Anonymous game stats are sent only with your consent, the yes you give on FLUX's own card, and you can withdraw it at any time with SHARE ANONYMOUS STATS in Settings. You can turn GAME CENTER off there too. FLUX's ads (version 1.4 and later) are never personalized, for anyone; Settings' ADS says what an ad is chosen by and how to report one.

Depending on where you live (for example in California or another US state with a privacy law), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you and to get a copy of it, to have it corrected or deleted, to opt out of its sale, of its sharing for targeted advertising and of profiling (FLUX does none of these, its ads included), and to appeal if we turn a request down. The only personal information we can hold about you is an email you choose to send us: the anonymous stats carry no identifier, so no player's stats can be found to show or delete, and we receive no ad data about anyone (Google's own controls are on its privacy policy).

How to ask: email chat@fluxsupports.com with "Privacy request" in the subject, and say what you would like. We may ask for details to confirm the request comes from you, usually only the email address you wrote from. Someone you authorize can ask for you, with your signed permission. We answer within the time the law where you live allows (45 days under California's law, for example), and usually much sooner. If we cannot do what you ask, we will say why. To appeal, reply with "Appeal" in the subject; if you are still unhappy, you can contact your state's attorney general. We will not treat you differently for using any of these rights.

This website

This website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, it keeps ordinary server logs, such as visitors' internet (IP) addresses, to run and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. The site sets no cookies and runs no scripts.

Changes

FLUX may change in future versions. It may add new features (for example purchases), or new kinds of information it collects or shares. If it does, this page will change first, with a new date, and will say what changes, and the game's own copy will follow in that version. Where the law or Apple requires your permission (for example, to track you, or for a child's information), the game will ask for it before the change applies to you. The game will tell you what changed, for example in WHAT'S NEW.

A change applies to information collected after it. Information already collected is used only as the policy in force when it was collected said, unless you agree otherwise.

This version, of 16 October 2026, adds the ads of FLUX 1.4 (Ads, above: the banner while you play, the full-screen ads after a run and after each ADVENTURE level from the third planet on, and the ads you choose to watch for a reward): what Google AdMob receives whenever FLUX loads or shows an ad, how FLUX keeps every ad never personalized, how long Google keeps ad data, that every service FLUX uses protects what it receives as this policy does, and what that changes in the services FLUX uses, how long things are kept, children's privacy and your choices. Versions before 1.4 show no ads, and nothing else FLUX collects, sends or shares has changed. The version before, of 11 October 2026, added what this policy covers, how information is used and when it may be shared, the services FLUX uses, security, where information is kept, and how to make a request.
